You receive a 40-page PDF of conference slides and need only pages 12 and 31 for a blog post: a chart and a diagram, both full of small labels. Open the PDF here and type 12, 31 into the Pages field. The save button changes to "Save 2 PNGs". Before you save, the settings show the pixel size. For widescreen slides (13.33 × 7.5 inches), Standard (150 dpi) gives 2000 × 1125 px, which is plenty for a blog column. High (300 dpi) doubles each side. That helps if readers will zoom into the small labels, but the files grow fast. The two pages arrive as one ZIP, slides-png.zip, with slides-page-12.png and slides-page-31.png inside, in document order. The PDF is read on your device and not uploaded. What you get: clean edges around text and lines, because PNG stores the drawn pixels without lossy compression. A white background: the pages are drawn on white, so these PNGs have no transparent areas. And an image, not a document: the text can no longer be selected or searched, and links no longer work. File size depends a lot on what is on the page. In one of our tests at 300 dpi, an A4 page filled with a detailed photograph came out at about 11.5–13 MB as a PNG and about 0.9–1.7 MB as a JPG, depending on the browser; a text page came out at about 1.1–1.3 MB as a PNG. For photo-heavy pages, PDF to JPG is often the better choice. My guides cover resolution, file size and saving several pages at once.
