Saving several PDF pages as PNG images

Maybe you need the cover, two charts from the middle and the last page, each as its own PNG. PDF to PNG lets you pick exactly those pages and saves them in one go.

Everything starts selected

When a PDF opens, all of its pages are selected, so saving the whole document is one press of the save button — it names the count, for example Save 12 PNGs. For anything less, remove what you don’t need, or press Clear and tap only the pages you want.

Ranges

Type pages into the range field and press Enter or Apply:

If an entry isn’t a page, points past the end of the document, or runs backwards (9-4), the field says so and your previous selection stays as it was. A correct range that you typed but did not apply is applied before saving, and the save button counts those pages while you type.

Select all, Invert, and Odd pages / Even pages (under More) help with larger patterns.

The order is the document’s order

The images come out in the order the pages have in the PDF, whatever order you selected them in. Selecting page 10, then 2, then 6 gives you 2, 6, 10. PDF to PNG does not reorder pages.

What you download

The ZIP keeps the PNG files exactly as they were made. PNG is already compressed without loss, so the ZIP does not try to squeeze it again.

Opening the ZIP

On most computers a double-click opens a ZIP or extracts its contents. On a phone, the ZIP goes where your browser keeps downloads; the phone’s file manager can usually open it and show the images. The steps differ from device to device.

If you would rather skip the ZIP on a phone: after saving, Share — when your browser supports sharing files — passes the PNG images themselves, not the ZIP, to the app you choose. Download again gives you the same ZIP once more without drawing the pages again.

Many pages, large files

Especially for photo-heavy pages, PNG files can be much larger than JPG files, and a ZIP of many PNG pages adds up. In one of our tests, 12 pages filled with a detailed photograph at 300 dpi made a ZIP of roughly 140–160 MB; the same number of text pages would be a fraction of that.

The tool sets no fixed page-count limit. Everything is drawn on your device, so capacity depends on the document, the resolution and the memory available. You can follow the progress on the save button and press Cancel at any time; nothing is downloaded after a cancel. If you only need the pages on a screen, Standard (150 dpi) keeps the ZIP much smaller.
